There's a voice that calls,Remember who you are
History:
As long as she can remember, Medeia has been alone. Her first memory is one in a forest. She was sitting under a tree next to a trickling stream. She could hear all the sounds around her and she looked the same as she looked now. As she sat and looked into the water for what seemed like years on end, and still and unmoving figure, her mind unraveled what she was. It was strange. She didn't even really understand what she was doing, but she just sat there, looking and listening. When she was done, the trees around her were different and she felt different.
Rising to her feet she walked into the forest away from the stream, wandering. She learned much from the animals that she came to meet, such as where she was, who ruled the land and if there was anything like her. It seemed like there wasn't a creature who knew what she was, except for her. As she traveled she began to understand her own "gifts" if you could call them that. She was apart of everything and separate from it all at the same time. It was strange. She was animal, and not animal. Land, yet not land. She was all, a spirit meant to wander and do what she saw fit with herself.
With that thought in her mind, she went from the land she was "born" and explored the neighboring lands, learning the human languages, and learning things that were hidden in her head. How to fight and wield weapons was a joy of hers. She was a swift killer and a wonderful archer. She wasn't the best, but she was good non the less. She learned how to ride horses, which felt strange for why didn't she just change and run with her brother or sister rather than ride on them, but she needed to blend to understand the world.
But the world was changing. When she went back to where she was "born" it was covered in ice and snow. Granite, it had been over a hundred years since she had been back, but there was such sadness everywhere she looked, it sparked her anger. Where was the one they called Aslan? But things were set in motion and she watched as 4 children defeated what was causing the snow and ice. Still staying in the shadows at the time, she finally revealed herself to the kings and queens, allowing the creatures she had watched observe her. The eldest was handsome in her eyes, but he was a mere child. She was old, at least in years. And so she stayed and observed and helped the 4 young ones. She knew the countries around Narnia. She had traveled them and learned their cultures as best she could, understanding them to a degree.
The years went by quickly, faster than normal for Medeia, and the young ones were gone. This time she did not sit and watch the world fall to turmoil, she stood by the Narnians, but it didn't help. So she slid back to the shadows, watching and waiting. When the four came back, she was excited, ready to come to their side, but they were young again, and looked the age she was for once. She did not go to help them, but stood by. The land was quiet and her friends were mostly gone. The trees would not reply to her and the water was still. She was ebbing away it seemed. But with the four coming back, she knew what she needed to do. So she disguised herself as a leopard, and went among their midst, letting another "adventure" come into her life.

Jack lay sprawled out on her queen sized bed with her Akita Rottweiler Thor. One hand resting on his head and petting the soft fur there, she lay listening to her ipod, trying to think of something fun to do. She had come up with loads of ideas, but how to execute them hadn't come to her yet. What she really wanted to do, was jump on her ATV and go ride the hills, but then Ben would follow her and she'd have to deal with is company. Like his presence in the house at the moment wasn't a pain enough. Sighing she rolled over onto her stomach and looked Thor in the eyes. He just lay there looking back and wagged his tail, creating a loud thumping noise. I've got it! she thought as she jumped off the bed and started stripping out of the clothes she had on, trading them for a sports bra, a pair of softy shorts, her Sultan sweats, her old Santana P.E. shirt that had the sleeves cut off, and her running shoes.
Whistling to Thor, she went down the stairs from her loft like room at the same time tying her hair up into a pony tail, and then strapping on her ipod holder to her arm. Thor was ecstatic, he was going for a run. He pounced, well as much as his lumbering body could bounce, and around her excited.
"Thor calm down." Jack laughed as she reached for his choker and leash. The leash was only for show, Thor never went on a leash, he stayed by her side constantly. Putting the choker around his neck she opened the door and let him go out into the brisk air before her. He bounded around the yard waiting for her to pick a song on her ipod. Last of the Wilds by Nightwish was her choice today. Putting it on repeat, she whistled to Thor and started running. He ran along side her, his lumber yet graceful gate keeping up with her quick speed. Jack laughed, she didn't have to be in coyote shape to go fast. Picking up the pace, she jump over fallen trees and ran through the dense undergrowth with Thor right beside her running the whole way. They had always run like this, and Thor loved his workouts. Sometimes Jack would run as a coyote, but today, she was just acting like a normal human, listening to the sounds of music blast in her ears.
Dodging around trees, making it a race with Thor, she smiled as he barked and tried to get ahead of her, but making sure she was always near. Jack just laughed, and kept running, not paying a two bit of attention to where she was going. It was a good time after she had left the house, and she had listened to Land of the Wilds so many times she had lost count that she burst from the trees into a simple little meadow. It was cute, soft pastel flowers everywhere, and the green of the forest and grass made the place tranquil. Jack slowed to a jog and then stopped a good ways into the meadow, and watched as Thor bounded off after a rabbit or something of the like.
"Thor stay close!" Jack ordered, taking her ipod slowly out of her ears, and then turning it down. Now that she could hear what was around her, the birds chirping, the wind in the trees, the soft sound of some animal, the little valley seemed like a sanctuary. Sighing, Jack sat on the soft grass and then lay down on her back, listening. Thor came over and lay with her after a little exploring and with him by her side, Jack put her ipod back into her ears and changed to a soft song she had heard so many times, she didn't really need to listen to it with the ipod.
"Hush-a-Bye
Dont You Cry
Go To Sleep My Little Baby
When You Wake You Shall Have
All The Pretty Little Ponies..."
Jack smiled to herself, closing her eyes and allowing herself to be immersed by the music. It was a soft lullaby, one her mother had sung to her as a child, and when it was in a movie not too long ago, it became a song. The girl who sang it had a lovely voice, one she liked listening to and one she could only pick a few mistakes in her vocals out.
"Blacks And Bays
Dapples And Grays
Running In The Night
When You Wake
You Shall Have
All The Pretty Little Ponies ..."
Jack heaved a sigh, and felt herself nod off, head tilting to the side, eyes closed, she lost herself to the comfort of the place she lay.
----
A few hours later, Thor nudge Jack's shoulder, whining softly as he attempted to wake her up. He could hear something he didn't like, it was just the faintest sound, but it disturbed him and made the hair on his neck rise, making him look slightly menacing.
Jack stretched her arms out as she came awake, unaware of the noise, her ipod still playing in her ears. Pulling them out, she looked at Thor groggily, then up at the sky. Ugh. It was almost dark, and knowing her father, he would send Ben out to find her at least 3 hours after sunset, so she still had time to find her way home. But she didn't want to leave, and like Thor, she didn't know what the noise was coming towards them and getting louder as it neared.
