Morning was, arguably, the best time of the day. Not only was the air balmy and cooling, unlike the sticky hot afternoon, the atmosphere was crisp, clear and free of any type of pollution from day to day activities, and bats were just returning from their midnight hunt.
Of course, if anyone were to mention those facts to Jun Min, the aerial attacker would most definitely choose the last option.
Having woken up early that day, Jun Min had done a scheduled check on all gryphons staying at Cair Paravel as well as Caspian's castle, before he had just picked up his Ace, and rode his horse all the way here. Things had been busy at the castle lately, and with the warnings of a stirring of trouble in Narnia, security had been tightened, which meant more work for Jun Min as he tried to schedule out a tighter schedule for sky patrol throughout Narnia. With everything going on, the striking man had hardly enough time to bring his red-tailed hawk out for practice, and he was making up.
Currently, his horse was tied to a low branch, and standing in the middle of the empty lawn, the male's eyes were raised with interest as he watched the skies, eyeing the bats that were returning in trickles to their roosts in nearby caves, as his hands stroked his hawk's body. However, in seconds, the moment he unclasped the hook from around Ace's scaly leg, the bird took flight almost immediately, letting loose a loud call, before swooping through the sky in a graceful arc, heading straight for its prey.
And on ground, Jun Min couldn't help but grin, as he settled back on the ground, and sat with his knees propped up, leaning back to place his weight on his hands as his onyx black eyes watched his pet hunt with much amusement in his eyes. Perhaps of all, the one thing Jun Min would never get tired of was to watch a bird fly, be it gryphon, hawk or sparrow.

Caspians' laughter rang through the forest, echoed by half a dozen of the diverse Narnians with him. It was quite a sight to see; centaurs, elves, goblins-even a dragon flying above them. Sure, he had departed with his little squad to scout, but there was little reason for him to not have fun while he was at it. The rest of the Narnians, while amused, were more than used to their young king's ever changing moods.
Coming out of Cair Paravel's grounds with a stony face and an assignment from the dungeon guards, they left immediately to thunderous sounds of hooves. Of course, the dungeons would never presume to send the king himself off on the small mission, but Caspian had taken it upon himself, and who would dare defy him? The young king found it as a mean of distraction rather than an actual need-the seventeen year old had brightened up considerably the deeper they went into the forest. His bow and arrows were slung over his bag,a sword sheathed an ready by his side.
Turning serious for a moment, Caspian judged them to be at the very heart of the forest, and raised his hand in signal. Instantly, the troop split off in threes, each with a hawk to interact with one another, and Caspians' determined expression was copied perfectly unto theirs. They had an escapee to catch. Caspian pushed his horse to a gallop, his two companions taking his flanks, looking more excited than they truly should.
It was but the crack of dawn, the cool morning air blowing back his long, dark hair as Caspian made his way through the forest, equally dark eyes alert as he scanned his surroundings for any telltale warnings. To his frustration, hours into the hunt revealed no difference safe hungry stomachs and thinning forest, and Caspian found himself at the very edge of the clearing that made the Dancing Lawn. Still, there seemed no better place for him and his men to enjoy breakfast before trying their luck once more, and Caspian slowed down his horse's unrelenting gallop. He, too, seemed frustrated by this.
But Caspian was saddle sore, no matter how he'd never admit it, and climbed off gingerly, the other two copying him with sheepish grins. One turned around in a stretch, than gave a shout of greeting. Caspian and the other turned to copy his gaze, and Capian's mouth stretched into a grin to see the young man there. Jun Min was one of his most trusted men, and was currently, most amusingly, scanning the skies, looking like a yearning child.

Perhaps he should've brought one of the gryphons with him today. Vyner, or maybe Fenn. But the thought hadn't crossed Jun Min's mind at all though, when he first set out, for the guy was merely intent on training his Ace. Now that he was watching the red-tailed hawk weaving in and out of the skies, its strong talons easily latching on to its prey, falling it out of the sky.
Born in his blood, Jun Min was never at home more then when he was in the sky, and if anyone ever saw him atop one of the gryphons at the castle, they would see what genuine joy was, for that picture was painted on the man's face each time he cut through the air.
As he watched, the guy was so absorbed in observing Ace flying, that it wasn't until a loud greeting rang out before he realized there was company, and a small grin formed on his features when he saw who it was.
With a turn of his head, the guy gave a shrill whistle, raising his arm just as his hawk dropped out of the sky obediantly, right on to Jun Min's outstretched arm, and the man latched on the hook on Ace's scaly leg again, before approaching Caspian with a grin in place, Ace perched sedately on his arm. "So early, your majesty? Anything happening?" Jun Min asked, giving a smile all around before returning his gaze back to Caspian. If anything, the man was more then happy to serve Caspian as he aerial attacker and strategist, for despite younger then he was, Caspian had earned Jun Min's respect for being a just king, that much the guy would admit.

A mild irritation was gnawing through him as he looked down at the older man, laying down with his face tipped to the sky. For a moment, he merely shifted his thoughts over in confusement, wondering what it could possibly be. Jun Min stood, grin in place, and Caspian frowned with the realization of what had been bothering him. Jun Min had his entire concentration elsewhere, and in these particular times, it was hardly an intelligent thing to do. Caspian hated the thought of any of his men getting hurt, especially through such carelessness, and if it meant that he had to be a tad harsh-so be it. Not that he was particularly looking forward to having to warn the good man. It was something he had to do, though.
The inner arguments inside his head had the king grimacing, but the moment he made to ask Jun Min cut across him with a shrill whistle. Raising his eyebrows in a silent question, a loud caw from the sky answered him. Caspian looked on in barely concealed wonder as the creature gracefully wheeled around in the sky, before swooping down to take his accustomed place at the man's arm just as Jun Min offered it. It was the most graceful sort of dance, and for a moment, Caspian saw Jun Min's point of view. It was more than graceful; it was majestic, almost something miraculous the way it controlled the air so. No, not controlled-the bird was a part of it. It almost made Caspian wish that he himself could take to the skies-at least until he remembered his fear of heights.
Caspian raised his eyes from the bird's eyes to the man's it was perched on. "We had a couple of prisoners escape," he answered, his serious air finding room to return the other's genial smile, although his was tinged with exhaustion. Prisoners, it would be worthy to add, were hardcore Jadis supporters, although he didn't. "Have been looking all morning, but so far, no luck. Decided to stop for breakfast," he explained, smirking over Jun Min's shoulder at the sight of his two men already settled on the ground, legs stretched out. Reaching over to his horse, Caspian grabbed his satchel and tossed it over, seeming almost effortless despite it being stuffed with food. "Care to join us? I'll fare you hadn't much of a breakfast either."

Whenever Jun Min watched his birds or gryphons fly, the man would be completely enraptured, partly because he saw the beauty of flight, and partly because he trusted those in the air with his life, and that also meant watching out for any attackers. Ace had been Jun Min's constant companion ever since he was a boy, and Jun Min had brought up the hawk since it was a fledgeling, the man thought no reason to not trust his hawk anyway.
"We had a couple of prisoners escape,"
Turning his attention to Caspian when he spoke, Jun Min raised his hand to his shoulders, letting Ace perch there whilst his arm dropped to rest next to him, the man's expression turned serious when he heard the situation, and his agile mind immediately started searching for solutions, or at least, ways to help. Naturally, the aerial ace would think to take to the air with the gryphons, but the trek was far too long just to fetch the flying beasts to his aid, and Jun Min doubted there was the time either.
"Have been looking all morning, but so far, no luck. Decided to stop for breakfast,"
At the mention of breakfast, the serious air broke to give way to a slight smile. If anything, Jun Min was one for food, big or small its portion doesn't matter, and even if his had his breakfast this morning, the man would never mind a second helping. Looking over to where the food was being laid out, the man grinned at the sight of Caspian's filled to brim satchel of food, and then nodded when he heard the invite.
"Don't mind if I do." he agreed genially, but before joining Caspian at the mat, the man took Ace from his shoulder, spoke to the bird in low voices, before he let the red-tailed hawk launch in to the air again, watching his trusted friend fly away with a loud caw, before finally joining the rest on the ground. "I've sent Ace to help you a little. His sharp eyes will spy any fresh traces, and cover some tracks while you guys take a rest." Jun Min said, as he tucked his legs underneath, settling in to a comfortable position, before turning to Caspian again. "Such a small party to search for escaped prisoners? Surely you jest, your Majesty." the man asked, slight curiosity tinging his words.
