Alyissa was just overwhelmed. That was perhaps the right way to put it. She had only been here for a few hours and she found everything to be strange in Narnia. She had been use to Calmorens and their harsh ways. At least, their harsh ways towards her to be exact. A small frown appeared on her face as she rode through the shuddering wood. Her mare tossed her mane, letting it fly backwards. A giggle escaped from her lips. Her expression turned somber as she thought of the task that awaited her. A troubled look passed through her face as she gripped the reins rather tightly. The horse shifted and Aly slowly lossened her grip. "Sorry girl," she muttered, rubbing her mane.
A thoughtful look passed through and she sighed, slowing her horse down to a trot. She wandered how she was going to find her older brothers. She knew that only one of them was residing in Cair Paravel. But she doesn't know what he looked like. "And that's a start," she grumbled to herself, a frusterated look passing through. "I need to know what he looks like," she slowly raised her head to the sky. "I need help," she muttered again. "I need some sort of sign to where I should start..." her voice trailed off and she shook her head.
She was being crazy. Alyissa also knew that the attack on her family shouldn't have happened in the first place. A scowl replaced the frusterated look. She was being mental and she was slowly losing it. Calm down Ali, she thought. Calm down. She re-focused her thoughts to the present and to the strang behavior of the Narnians...and to one certain king....
She blushed crimson as her thoughts rounded with Edmund. She wasn't comfortable at all with being around boys still. And she didn't know what their customs were and everything. But she figured she would learn on her own time. Her ears perked up, hearing the distant sound of hooves. She urged her horse to move faster, not wanting anyone to see her. She cursed herself for going out unarmed. Alyissa just hoped that whoever it was had no intention in harming her.

Alyissa had ordered her horse to a trot at this point. She frowned when she heard a male voice saying hello. She told the mare to stop as she swiftly and carefully turned around in her saddle. Her body was tensed as she expected guards, or Lord Marcus himself. Wild thoughts were going through her mind, but she relaxed when she saw it was Edmund. "Your majesty," she said politely, bowing low in the saddle, bowing the way she had been taught. "Its a surprise to see you out and about. You certainly scared me for a minute...I thought you were someone else....."
She let her voice trailed off as she hung her head. Her cheeks were a slight crimson. If the lord would seen her right now...he wouldn't stop at nothing for the beatings later. I have got to stop this, Alyissa thought with a small frown. I have to stop living in the past, its starting to get on my nerves. "Sorry sire," she broke the silence. Her voice was still soft as her gaze was to the ground.
"Do not look anyone in the eye, Alyissa. Always to the ground....what did I just say?!"
"Um..." the eight year old Alyissa looked up at Marcus with a frightened look. "Look at the ground?"
"When being spoken to. And don't speak unless spoken to,"
Her eyes glittered with tears as she shook her head. She ducked it to wip away the tears. Alyissa didn't look up until she got her emotions under control. "I trust I find his majesty in good health?" she asked, her voice was even now. She gently held onto the reins for comfort, which she needed now. She glanced down at the light blue everyday dress that Lucy had picked out for her. Her hair was combed and tangled free and was down for once. She fixed her gaze on the saddle and kept her mouth closed, waiting for him to speak.

[/i]. Edmund was a little confused, but he put it off, for now. His smile faded as she spoke of her thoughts. "Oh," he mumbled. "She probably hoped I was Peter," he thought, looking to the ground. He couldn't help but think that. Slowly, he looked up, noticing her looking at the ground also. She probably didn't even want to look at him because she was dissapointed that he wasn't Peter. Of course, this wasn't the case, but the young king couldn't help but think that it was. He started to turn his horse around, but he heard her speak. "What?" he asked, confused. What was she sorry about? He was the one that appeared out of nowhere. She probably didn't even want to talk to her but she did anyway because he was a king. These were the times that he hated the whole royalty thing. He wished that people would just talk to him like he was a normal person. "Yes," he said, nodding. Kicking slightly, he brought his horse up to hers. He was so awkward, it was like he was glowing, he felt so odd. "And you?" he asked. The fifteen year old was horrible at making small talk, that was always Peter's job. Edmund would usually just stand in the background, then speak up when it was needed. Plus, he definitely was having a hard time just because of what he felt towards Alyissa. That was going to be a hard day.[/size][/ul]

Alyissa shifted uncomfortably in her saddle as she let her gaze wander about. Her eyes held a weary look in them. She silently prayed that he won't dare venture into Narnia....then again he had his ways. She slowly raised her head to noticced him frowning and immdeitaly felt afraid. That he was going to snap at her any moment. "I'm sorry sir," she repeated, flincing away from him, fearing that he might strike. "Its just...I thought you were Lord...Marcus," she finished her first sentence. Her hands gripped the reins tightly and the mare shifted. "Sorry girl," Aly murmured as she slowly released the grip.
She slowly raised her head and looked startled for a moment when he brought his horse up to hers. A smile was spreading across her face. She shrugged at his question. "As well as can be sir," Alyissa was slowly relaxing around him, but she was still akward and suspicous. Who could blame her? A silence fell between them as she shifted. "Narnia....its a strange place," she commented, trying to ease the akward feeling. She bit down on her lower lip and smiled at him. "I don't mean to critize your home sir. Its much different than-" she stopped in mid speech. She decided to tell him, he would find out eventually.
"Its much different than Calmoren. I was raised there ever since I could remember. By the time I was eight, Marcus, the lord of the house, had me working to earn my keep. In other words I was his slave. He....." her voice trailed off and she shook her head. Her eyes were filled with tears and she looked away. She had almost revealed the reason why she had left. And her child....my baby, she thought. "I had enough and choose to left. Narnia....it doesn't seem like anything from what Lord Marcus told me it was. It certainly is different,"

Alyissa slowly raised her head a bit, just enough to watch Edmund tying his horse to a tree. She frowned as she returned her gaze to the horse's mane. Why wasn't he sending it back to the Cair? She knew that the horse would find its way. But she wasn't sure if she should speak out of turn or not. Marcus had gotten her good when she spoke out of turn. Alyissa flinched slightly at the memory.
They said they won't make her a slave....but then again so did the lord. It was hard for her to find out who was telling the truth and who wasn't. But did it really matter? They always went back on their word. She gazed at Edmund out of the corner of her eye. He seemed nice enough. But what happens when she slipped? A shiver ran through her body and she closed her eyes.
She opened them and nearly jumped when Edmund returned, his hand out. She eyed it wearly before reaching out and gripping it tightly with hers. Alyissa held onto him as she slowly and, very carefully, got out off the horse. She stumbled against him before re-gaining her balance. It took her a moment to realsed she was leaning against one of the kings and she straightened, the blush on her cheeks were turning slightly crimson again. She needed to find her brothers. Alyissa had asked many people around the Cair for anyone with a last name similar to hers.
And she was given a name, two names actually. Matthew and Akira Innes. They were suppose to be high ranking nobles. But she would continue asking around, not trusting anyone's information until she got it right. She also was given another name: Soren and Syria Innes. She wandered where they were. A small smile played across her lips as she nodded. "It is," her voice was soft, but she looked at him. "The nobles in Calmorene behave differently than your nobles sir. They treat their servants, slaves, brutally. My master was that way," she paused, thinking, and he raped me. But she would never say that outloud.
The smile was bigger now. Her eyes sparkled as she glanced up at him. She nodded. "As long as there's no yelling or anything," she told him then quickly looked down. Ah, she was being stupid. She relaxed when she realised that no blow was coming. "That sounds good to me sir," everything is so strange here, she mused, forgetting she was still holding his hand. In Calmorene you would never find the nobility speaking to a lower born. But Alyissa didn't know she was, in fact, noble because of her brother. She still need to do a lot of researching. "Have you ever heard of my last name in the castle sir?" she asked curious. "Innes? I'm told my brother is a high ranking knight and so is his wife," she needed the answers.
